Jirov is coming off a great fight with James Toney. The action starts
out slow with Mesi doing all the work. It seems like Mesi is winning
the fight up until the 9th round. This is where Jirov turns the pressure
on. He catches Mesi with a punch to the top of the head the drops
him hard. Mesi is competely hurt but is saved by the bell. The final
round begins and its all Jirov; scoring 2 more knockdowns and
critically hurting Mesi. Lucky for Joe the round ends and he escapes
with a unanimous decision (by 1 point on all three judges score
cards). However, this could be the last time you see Mesi. He was so
severly hurt in that fight that doctors say he should not fight again.
