Pacquiao is coming off his stunning 11th round TKO of Marco
Barrera. Marquez was considered one of the top 3 featherweights
(behind Morales and Barrera). Marquez seemed to be controlling the
first half of round 1 when all of a sudden completely lost it. Pacquiao
sent Marquez down 3 times in the first round. However, he could not
seal the deal. Marquez picked up momentum and out boxed the
sporadic Pacquiao over the next few rounds. Going down the stretch it
became a close fight, but not to the point in which the fight was
declared a draw. Marquez escaped with his belts. Rematch down the
line hopefully.
